Monique Lay is a small business owner, who has been living in Miami for 1 year.

1.Why do you volunteer?

It's sometimes easy to get stuck in a work grind and not lead an intentional life that is aligned with my beliefs and values. Volunteering allows me to actively put energy into the things I value such as strengthening my connection to my local community.

2.What has been your most fulfilling volunteering experience with OUT Miami?

My most fulfilling experience with OUT Miami was becoming a Volunteer Ambassador because it solidified my commitment.

3. Can you share a dream/hope you have for our local LGBT community?

I hope that increased community engagement positively impacts and enriches the community.
