Staff + Internship Opportunities

OUT Miami Foundation is a rapidly growing 501c(3) operating foundation dedicated to building an engaged, philanthropic LGBT community in the Greater Miami area. We work collaboratively with local LGBT-serving organizations to solve community problems and increase engagement, volunteerism, and charitable giving. OUT Miami Foundation’s unique engagement models recruit diverse and underrepresented philanthropists to actively participate in strengthening and building our local LGBT community.

We currently have the following job positions open:


Communications Intern

 

The Communications Intern will work closely with the Coordinator of Programs to ensure effective communication of OUT Miami’s programming. 

Time Commitment: 15 hrs/week 

Stipend: Available

Dates: Summer (flexible)

OUT Miami is a community foundation with the mission to build an engaged, philanthropic LGBT community in the Miami area. We work collaboratively with with local LGBT-serving organizations to solve community problems and increase engagement, volunteerism and charitable giving.  

The Communications Intern will work closely with the Coordinator of Programs to ensure effective communication of OUT Miami’s programming.

The Communications Intern will be expected to:  

  • Manage and update OUT Miami Foundation’s website

  • Manage OUT Miami’s  social media outlets, including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram

  • Produce a monthly newsletter to promote the work of the foundation. Responsibilities include: drafting articles and short updates, collect stories and news

  • Create and promote professional-quality toolkits and other promotional materials for use by the foundation, partner agencies, and community groups as needed

  • Perform other job-related duties, as assigned.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • An interest in marketing and promotion, social media, communications and development is essential

  • Demonstrable experience developing promotional materials

  • Excellent written, verbal and communication skills

  • Familiarity with social media communication strategies and marketing tools

  • Analytical and time management skills and the ability to handle heavy workloads and manage competing priorities

  • A demonstrated commitment to the LGBT community
